2 bags yellow split peas
Ham Hock
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 onion chopped
2 Bay leaves
1 tsp chopped garlic
Dash hot sauce (tabasco)

Soak peas in large pot overnight. Make sure water sufficiently covers the peas. Drain - add fresh water. Add all ingredients and cook on low heat for 2 hours. Add seasoning according to taste.
