2 C Sugar
1 C Butter or Margarine
2 Eggs
1 C Sour Milk or Buttermilk
1 tsp. Baking Soda
4 C Flour
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter or margarine until well mixed. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat well.

In a separate container, stir baking soda into sour milk or buttermilk. Then stir that mixture into the above mixture alternately with the flour until well mixed.

Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 15 minutes at 375º

Note: "Sour milk" is made by mixng together 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice plus enough milk to make 1 cup.
