Directions:
Mix the sugar, flour and milk in one bowl. Separate whites yellows from 8 to 10 eggs. Beat yellows with fork. Put milk on top of flour and sugar and stir. (Note: after warm, put in the yellows) Put in double boiler, on high, and stir. When it has boiled, put on without double boiler on low. Put in the sink in water to cool. Beat egg whites and have ready to put in custard when it cools down to warmish/hot. Put a little of the milk into the yellow eggs before putting into the milk mixture. Don't beat the egg whites until the boiled custard is ready for it.

Chill in the refrigerator, then serve with a little vanilla flavoring added. This is one of my all-time favorite treats at Mama Jo's and Papa John's home during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
