4 c Water 1 L
1/2 c Pitted prunes 125 mL
1/2 c Raisins 125 mL
1/2 c Sliced dried apples 125 mL
1/3 c Granulated sugar 75 mL
1/4 c Sliced dried apricots 50 mL
1/4 c Sliced dried peaches 50 mL
1 Slice lemon 1
1/4 tsp Cinnamon 1 mL
1 tbsp Cornstarch 15 mL
Milk or cream (optional)

Directions:
In saucepan, combine 3-1/2 cups (875 mL) of the water, prunes, raisins, apples, sugar, apricots, peaches, lemon and cinnamon. Bring to boil; cover and reduce heat to low, simmering for 10 to 15 minutes or until fruit is tender but still intact.
Blend cornstarch into remaining water; stir into fruit mixture, increase heat to medium
and simmer for about 5 minutes longer or until liquid thickens and clears. Taste and adjust flavours. Remove lemon slice. Serve hot or chilled with milk or cream (if using). Soup can be stored, covered, in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
