1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/4 c. white sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 t. cinnamon



Cake:
2 c. sifted flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 c. shortening or softened butter
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix the topping ingredients first by mixing the white sugar & cinnamon first, then add brown sugar and pecans. Mix well and set aside.

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a stand mixer, mix butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time continuing to mix until smooth.
Add a little flour mixture to the above, then add a little sour cream. Alternate back and forth with flour mixture and sour cream. Always start with flour and end with flour....very important! Lastly, add vanilla. Spread into 9" round cake pans that have been sprayed or greased. Sprinkle pecan topping mixture evenly on both cakes. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check with toothpick until no batter appears. Remove from oven and cool completely. Cakes can then be slipped into large baggies and sealed.
