1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 cocoa
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix oats and boiling water and let cool. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add oatmeal mixture along with flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Bake in 8 x 12 pan at 350º for 35 minutes. FROST WITH COCONUT ICING: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 cups coconut, 2 tablespoons oleo and 1/2 cup milk. Mix well and boil until thick, about 4 minutes.
