3 cups sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 1/2 cups ground black walnuts
1 cup butter
6 eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 squares chocolate or 12 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over chocolate or cocoa; mix and let cool. Cream butter, sugar beaten egg yolks, buttermilk, flour and chocolate mixture. Add beaten egg whites and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until done. I test with a toothpick. I use a tube cake pan.
