Ingredients: Rolls: 1 package yeast 1/4 cup warm water 2 cups flour 3/4 cup margarine 1 egg powdered sugar
For Apricot Filling: 1 cup dried apricots 1/2 cup sugar 4 oz. cream cheese
For Nut Filling: 4 oz. cream cheese 1/2 cup sugar juice of 1/2 orange 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix flour, margarine, egg and yeast together. Divide into two parts. Roll each part in powdered sugar. Use filling of your choice.
Apricot Filling: Cook apricots and sugar. Add cream cheese. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Spread mixture on dough and roll like a jelly roll. Slit the roll down the middle with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
Nut Filling: Mix cream cheese, sugar and orange juice. Roll on dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Spread mixture on dough. Sprinkle nuts on top of mixture. (Do not mix nuts with sugar and cheese). Roll like a jelly roll. Slit the roll down the middle with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. |

Notes: This recipe has been past down through my family for generations. My great-grandparents immigrated from Czechoslovakia and I have vivid memories of my grandmother cooking both Apricot and Nut rolls. They are delicious and a true part of my family history.
