4 T. horticultural iron powder (see a gardening supply store)
2 c. crystal clear corn syrup (Karo)
4 tsp. liquid laundry bleach

Mix well and put the tree stump in it to soak. Also add to the tree stand receptacle. When evaporation occurs, add warm water.
