1 lb bacon or ham hock
1 brown onion chopped
garlic (optional, to taste)
2 yellow chilis
2 lbs pinto beans (soak overnight)
salt
1/2 C vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
Toss everything in the crock pot, EXCEPT for the salt and vegetable oil - add these items at the end, when the beans are done.

Can also be cooked on the stovetop. Cover beans with water about 2" above the beans. Simmer on low until tender.
