1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with electric mixer. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add baking powder with flour. Add to creamed mixture one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff. Blend last flour in by hand. Divide dough and roll on floured board to approximately 1/4 inch thick. Dip cookie cutters in flour before each use. Put sugar sprinkles on cookies. Reroll dough scraps and cut and sprinkle. Bake cookies on middle rack of oven for 12 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown. Let stand 1 - 2 minutes. Using spatula remove cookies from cookie sheet to cooling rack and let cool.
