6 c. cornbread
8 0z .Pepperidge Farms herb seasoned stuffing
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
3 tsp. poultry seasoning or sage
3 tsp. salt
3 tsp. pepper
1 lb. bacon, already cooked and crumbled
8 eggs
5-7 c. turkey broth (taken when you boil the giblets etc.)
1 stick soft margarine

Combine 1st 8 ingredients. stir in softened margarine and eggs. Mix in broth until "gloppy". Spoon into greased 9x13 baking dish. Bake 350 º for 30 minutes. Put some in cavities of the bird (x2)

In 1994, on Wed, I was home alone and made my preparations. Since in the past we have had dressing left over and thrown out, I attempted to cut down on the amount. With that in mind I made the following adjustments to the recipe:
omitted the 4 cups of croutons
left out some of the cornbread
maybe should have cut down on the spices, but left them as is.
6 eggs instead of 8
same amount of onion and celery 1 1/2 c each
12 oz bacon
5 c turkey broth from giblets

I used the bacon drippings to smear on the turkey while it was in the icebox uncovered--so it would not dry out.
