|
|
Directions: |
Directions:Cut halibut steak into chunks. Open the beer and let it get flat. In a large bowl mix bisquick and beer until batter is thick (like a thick pancake batter consistency). Coat halibut pieces in batter.
Heat one-half to one bottle of canola oil on stove at medium heat in a large pot. Ideally, pot should be large enough so fish can float. Deep-fry fish until lightly golden brown. Remove fish from oil and drain on a plate covered with several paper towels.
Serve with cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. |

Notes: Oh- yum, yum yum! I loved it when mom made this for dinner when I was a kid. I've never gotten it quite right as an adult; maybe it's the luxury of having someone else cook it for you that makes it so, so delicious. ~Barb

The mere mention of this meal that I enjoyed in Fairbanks makes me run to my Alaska Airline account to check my buddy pass and miles...how soon can I get back for this fantastic fish?! ~Jeff
