5 lbs ground pork
5 lbs ground beef
4 large onions
2 T oil
3-1/2 T salt
1 T black pepper
1 T paprika
2 -1/2 cups instant rice ( add more if you like lots of rice in your stuffed cabbage)
1 or 2 cans tomato juice
1 large can sauerkraut
5 large heads of cabbage

Directions:

Core cabbage and place in enough boiling salted water to cover.
With a fork and knife keep cutting off the leaves as they become wilted.
Drain and trim thick center vein of each
Brown onions in oil, cool and add to the meats, seasoning and rice. Mix well
Place a tablespoon of the meat mixture on each cabbage leaf and roll, tucking the edges.
Layer rolls with sauerkraut and loose chopped cabbage in a large pot and cover two-third full with tomato juice.
Cover and cook slowly for 1-12 to 3 hours.
