3 sticks margarine or butter
1 small can Carnation evaporated milk
1 t vanilla

Directions:
Cream sugar and butter until fluffy, add eggs one a time and beat well. Alternate flour and milk and mix. Add flavoring. Mix well. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325º in a preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Sometimes I add 1/2 teaspoon of lemon flavoring in addition to the vanilla. I also frost the cake with lemon flavored cream cheese icing. Mama made a glaze from confectioner's sugar and poured it over the cake. Sometimes she didn't frost it at all...there's nothing better this side of Heaven!
