6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chips
1/2 C shortening
1 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
2 T milk
1 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 C chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1/2 C chips over hot, not boiling water. Cream together shortening, sugar and vanilla until fluffy Blend in melted chocolate and egg, beating well. Stir in milk. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Stir in remaining chocolate pieces and walnuts. Drop by teaspoonsful about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350º about 15 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
