1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking power
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 T. melted butter or margarine
1 egg
Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Make a chicken stew: Chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, or other vegetables of your choice. When it is cooked remove from broth. Add more chicken broth or water to make a large pot of liquid.

Noodle Dumplings:
Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Melt butter in a measuring cup; add egg and beat. Then add milk to make about 1/2 cup of liquid. Add to flour mixture. If it's too sticky, add more flour to make a very stiff dough.

Roll out dough until thin. Cut in strips lengthwise then crosswise to make squares. Add dumplings to boiling broth and cook until tender. Serve with the chicken stew.

Preparation time: 1 to 2 1/2 hours from start to finish

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
My family loves these dumplings, which resemble the home-made noodles Mom used to make, but they don't need to dry.
