Lots of cucumbers,
Lots of quart jars,
fresh dill,
fresh garlic,
plain salt,
3 qts. plus 1 qt. vinegar

Wash jars - boil lids. Pack cucumbers (pickles) tightly. Put jars of pickles in pot of warm water to prevent from breaking when filling. (put dill & garlic buds in jars)
Solution:
3 qts. vinegar plus 1 qt. vinegar
1 pint water
3/4 c. plain salt (no iodine)
Bring solution to boil and turn off. Pour hot solution over pickles - remove air bubbles with a rubber spatula. Put hot lids on jars and seal. (not too tight). Let stand for 24 hours and tighten lids.

I don't know how many cucumbers or jars you need. I just remember I washed a lot of quart jars. These are the directions as I was given over the phone by Mother. I think her solution is the trick
