1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2¼ cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
Dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together butter and sugar with a spoon. Beat in egg, oil and vanilla. Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Chill dough 1 hour or until easy to handle. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten to 1/2 inch with the tines of a fork, dipping fork into sugar. Bake in 375º oven 6 to 8 minutes.
