1 c. milk (scalded)
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Add flour to make stiff dough. Let rise. Work in all the flour you can. Make into loaves. Let rise. Bake at 325º for about 45 minutes.

This was Mrs. Sewell's recipe. Mrs. Sewell was a little old lady, mother of two of the doctors in Belton, Texas, who lived directly across from Retha and Amos (Grandma and Grandpa) on Downing Street in Belton, Texas in the early 1960s.
