2 cups flour
1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
1 ½ sticks cold unsalted butter, diced
½ cup buttermilk
1 extra lg. egg
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten (top)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Combine buttermilk and egg in a separate bowl and beat slightly. Add to the flour mixture and mix only until moistened.
In a small bowl mix the cheddar cheese with a small amount of flour (keeps it from sticking together). Add the cheese to the dough. Cut into biscuits and place on pan. Brush top with egg wash.
