Get out your favorite cookie cutters and your sprinkles and your icing. Cut out your shapes. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees 6 to 8 minutes or until starting to brown. Take out and decorate. To make your own icing: Powdered sugar Milk Food colorings of your choice Add enough milk to any amount of powdered sugar until the right consistency is reached. Divide icing into several containers. Add food coloring to each container(for Christmas always do red and green, of course). Decorate cookies, then add sprinkles. This is a good activity for children. They love to decorate! |

Notes: This recipe comes from one of my first recipe books--Betty Crocker. It goes so far back that it is hard to re-capture it. For umpteen years we made these cookies and decorated them, What fun memories I have!!! Make yourself some memories!
This is Sean, now...I just had to add that I remember taking a tin of these cookies to Gangy and she made a huge fuss over them and wouldn't let anyone eat them...she and I enjoyed them with hot tea in the formal living room...how special I felt! I always think of her and that Christmas when I make these!
