2 pkgs. yeast
½ cup plus 1 T. sugar
½ cup warm water
2 cups whole milk
¼ cup shortening
14 T. butter, plus more for brushing
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
6 ¼ cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle 1 T. sugar over yeast and dissolve in warm water. Set aside to let rise until double. Warm milk: add shortening + butter and let melt. Let cool until lukewarm (if too hot it will kill yeast). And then add salt, eggs and ½ cup sugar. Combine with yeast. Add flour gradually. Remove from bowl and knead dough for about 10 minutes. Place dough in a bowl with vegetable oil. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size, about 1 hour. Let rise in a warm place until double in size and form into rolls. Put rolls in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for 35-45 minutes. When dough is ready form into rolls and bake.
