1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 frying chicken (2 1/2 to 3 lbs.) cut into pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg and stir in milk. Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Dip pieces of chicken in batter and fry in fat heated at 365ºF. Cook large pieces first, for about 15 minutes. Fry backs and wings about 13 minutes, liver for about one minute. Drain on paper toweling. Chicken can be fried without butter, if desired. Salt after frying.
