2 Tbsp. butter
2 large onions
2 large cans of chopped sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
1-2 cups water
2 Tbsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tbsp sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter, add sauerkraut, 1 cup of water, salt, pepper and sugar. Simmer for 1/2 Add more water as needed. Remove to plate to cool

Personal Notes:
To be used as a filling for Pierogi dough. Filling can be made a day or two earlier. Remove from refrigerator a hour before preparing dough.
