2 yellow onions
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 c vegetable oil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
4 oz cream cheese at room temperature
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 c good mayonnaise

Directions:
Directions:
Place butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted, then add oil.
Slice onions into thin strings and cook until well caramelized (15-20 minutes). Cool to room temperature.

Combine dry ingredients with sour cream, mayonnaise and cream cheese. Add cooled onions and mix until well combined.

Serve with strong potato chips such as Cape Cod.
