1 c. milk, scalded
1 c. cold water
3 T sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 T Crisco
4 c. flour, sifted
1 egg, beaten
1 package yeast dissolved in 2 T. warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 2 T. of warm water. Add sugar, butter and salt to milk and mix well. Let cool a few minutes then add beaten egg and yeast mixture. Stir in flour enough until you can still beat with spoon. Put on floured board and shape into a ball. Put in greased bowl and brush top with shortening. Let rise until triple in bulk. Push down and roll out. After you cut them let rise again and bake for 15-20 minutes at 400
