1-2 whole chickens, cut up. (I usually buy a package of breasts and a package of legs).
1 -2 bottles Italian salad dressing

Sauce:
1/2 cup salad oil
1 cup water
2 tbs. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Dash cayenne
1 tsp. worcheshire sauce
1 tsp. hot sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 bottle ketchup (large)
1/4 bottle steak sauce
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 tbs. vinegar
Directions:
Directions:
Marinate the chicken in the Italian dressing over night.
Mix all sauce ingredients and simmer for about an hour.
When sauce is ready, grill the chicken until it is nice and brown.
Place chicken and barbecue sauce in a large aluminum pan.
Coat chicken well with sauce and cover pan with foil.
Place pan back on grill or in smoker or oven (about 300 º). Simmer for at least 2-3 hours, basting with sauce occasionally.

This is perfect for a BBQ dinner party. I often triple the recipe! You can't have too much!
