1 can tomato puree
1 small can paste
1 clove garlic
Basil
Salt & Pepper
Whole Onion (Peeled)


Meatballs
1/2 lb chopped ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp chopped parsley
1 beaten egg
3 tbsp grated cheese
Salt & Pepper


Lasagna
1 lb lasagna
Sliced or shredded mozzarella
1 lb Ricotta
1 egg
4 oz grated cheese

Sauce & Meatballs:
Put puree in large pan. Add garlic, basil, parsley, salt & pepper. Peel onion, secure with two toothpicks add to sauce. Cook sauce.
Mix together meatball ingredients thoroughly. Shape into large meatballs. Put oil in frying pan and brown meatballs. Add meatballs to sauce mixture. Pour off excess oil from frying pan. Then add paste to frying pan with two cans of water. Mix and scrape bottom of pan. Pour into sauce. Let sauce mixture simmer - 30 minutes. While sauce is simmering, cook lasagna according to package directions.

Lasagna preparation:
Take meatballs out of sauce - smash into small pieces and set aside. Mix ricotta cheese with egg.
In bottom of lasagna pan, add a few tbsp of sauce. Layer lasagna lengthwise for the first layer. Add some smashed meatballs, 4-5 tbsp ricotta mixture, mozzarella, sauce and shredded cheese. For the next layer, layer lasagna the short way ( opposite from the first time). Repeat other ingredients. End with lasagna, sauce & shredded cheese on top. Bake at 350º for 20-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
