1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats (if the oatmeal is large you can reduce it in size by putting it into a blender for a second).
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cocoa

Directions:
Mix water, oats and butter. Let stand 20 minutes. Add sugars and eggs. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add to mixture. Bake 30 minutes at 350°F.

Frosting. 6 T. butter, 1 c. walnuts chopped, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. evaporated milk, 1 c. coconut, 1/1/2 tsp. vanilla. Mix and spread on cake. Place under broiler until lightly browned.
