1 chicken, cut into 8 pieces
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Put cut up chicken in cold water. Mix flour and spices and put in a bag. Cover the chicken pieces with flour by placing in bag and shaking. Fry in 1/8 c. oil. Brown pieces, lower heat and continue to fry for 45 minutes more.

Gravy:
Stir 3 T. flour into 1/4 c. dripping in pan (the oil that is left after frying chicken in the pan) while it is hot. Mix 1 c. milk and 1 1/2 c. water. Add this to the flour mixture in pan and continue to heat until it thickens.
