Toffee Brownie Bars Recipe

3/4 C butter/margarine softened
3/4 C brown sugar
1 egg yolk
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 C all purpose flour
1 pkg (19.8 ox) Duncan Hines Chocolate Lover's Fudge Brownie Mix
1 egg
1/3 C water
1/3 C oil
1 pkg (12 oz) milk chocolate chips
3/4 C finely chopped pecans (or walnuts)

1) Preheat oven to 350. Grease 15 1/2 X10 1/2 X 1 in. jelly-roll pan.
2) For crust, combine butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla extract in large bowl. Stir in flour. Spread in pan. Bake for 15 minutes until golden.
3) For filling, combine brownie ingredients. Spread over hot crust. Bake 15 minutes or until surface appears set. Cool for 30 minutes.
4) For topping, sprinkle chocolate on hot brownies and spread after 2 minutes. Garnish with pecans ( walnuts) Cool completely. Cut into bars.
