1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. canned applesauce
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 egg, unbeaten
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. raisins
1 c. ready-to-eat bran

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves. Set aside. Combine applesauce and soda. Set aside. Mix shortening with egg and sugar until very light and fluffy. Mix in flour mixture alternately with applesauce mixutre. Fold in raisins and bran. Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees, 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
