1/2 C. Crisco
1 C. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/2 C. chopped nuts
3/4 C. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1/3 C. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Cream together the Crisco and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Bake for 25 minutes. Do not over bake.

Ice with the following icing recipe:
2-3 Tbsp. Crisco
1/2 pkg. of powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 - 1 C. cocoa (depending on preference)

Mix all together well. I usually have to taste and add to get the icing to the point where I like it.

I usually double this recipe. I got this from Mike's mom after we were first married and making brownies that "did not taste like mom's". In fact, Mike will often make these himself.
