1 c regular shortening (do not substitute)
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
21/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until white and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add baking soda, salt and baking powder, mix. Add unsifted flour. Mix, just until flour is incorporated. Add chocolate chips, do not over mix. Drop cookies on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350º for 8 minutes. Bake until cookies are just barely brown on the bottom. Let cool on baking sheet.

Pan cookies:
Grease 15x10 jelly-roll pan. Spread dough into prepared pan. Bake for 18 - 22 minutes. Cool in pan, cut into 48 squares.

Slice and bake cookie:
Divide dough in half. Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll each half of dough into a log and refrigerate 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350º. Cut into 1/2" slices place on a lightly greased baking sheet. bake 8 - 10 minutes. Dough may be stored in the fridge for up to a week, and frozen for up to 8 weeks.
