2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup softened butter
1 can (17 oz.) fruit cocktail, undrained
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup chopped nuts

1. Grease and flour bottom only of a 13x9-in. baking pan.
2. In a large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except chocolate and nuts. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour batter into prepared pan; sprinkle with chocolate pieces and nuts.
3. Bake at 350˚F for 35 to 40 min. until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.
