2 pkg 8oz pitted dates cut up
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c lemon juice
1 c walnuts

Oatmeal Crust
2 1/4 c flour
3/4 t baking soda
3/4 t salt
1 1/4 c butter
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 1/4 c raw cooking oats

Make date-walnut filling In small saucepan, combine dates, sugar with 1 cup of water. over med. heat stir constantly until misture is thick Remove from heat Stir in lemon juice and nuts cool

Make oatmeal crust
Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix butter and sugar until light and fluffy add flour mixture and oats with hands and mix until well combined. Press half mixture in 13 x 9 pan, put filling in and put remaining crust on top Bake at 375F until brown. Cut into squares Delicious!!!
