1/2 c. shortening
1-2/3 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Confectioners' sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Beat in eggs, then chocolate. Sift dry ingredients together and blend in alternately with milk. Add nuts. Chill 3 hours. Form into 1-inch balls and roll in confectioners' sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet 2 to 3 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan.
