2 boxes breadcubes (e.g., Marie Callendar) (whatever flavor, stale bread)
1 1/2 cups celery, diced
1 1/2 cups onions, diced
1 apple, diced
1 lb sausage (any you like)
1 stick butter
1 qt (milk/chicken stock mixture, I use 1/2 and 1/2)
1 Tbsp sage
salt/pepper
1 egg, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Saute veggies and apple in butter until tender, don't brown them. Add sausage and cook through. Keep the fat for flavor if you like. Add sage, salt, and pepper. Beat egg in a bowl and add milk and stock. Add this mixture to meat and veggies. Mix. Pour bread into large casserole and add liquid mixture. Stir well. Bake at 375 for 45 min. Stir once during baking. Serve with gravy or plain.

This makes our Thanksgiving every year. I make three batches and freeze some. My grandma is no longer with us, but this is a great recipe she left us that we continue in our traditions every year.
