1/2 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring
1-1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1-2 Tbsp. cream

Icing:
1 c. powdered sugar
2-1/2 Tbsp cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
1) Preheat to 350º. In large bowl, mix butter, sugar, vanilla, food coloring. Blend in flour and salt slowly (may not need all). Add cream if too dry.
2) Press together into balls, around cherries if desired.
3) Bake 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet for 12-15 min. or until set but not brown. Remove and let cool.
4) When cool, dip tops into icing. Decorate with sugar.
