"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
roast, any size that fits;
onion, usually 1 large;
salt, pepper, any other flavorings you might desire. (Sometimes I add a cream soup--even Cream of Chicken is good on it)

Directions:
Directions:
Put roast in crock pot (sometimes I use a frozen one!) either works fine. Cut up the onion any way you want. I often leave large pieces so I can set them aside on the platter. Put salt, pepper, other seasonings as desired. I often add a fresh or frozen green pepper to the pot--again whole so I can remove it. Add a large glass of water. Cook on high overnight. In the morning I check it . If it is a large roast I may leave it on high and if needed add a little water. If it is smaller, I turn the pot down to warm to finish it up for Sunday dinner. This will be well done.
