2c milk
1c sugar
3T flour
yolks of 2 eggs
1t vanilla
1T butter
2T sugar
2T water
Pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 375º
Bake pie shell (w/ a fork prick bottom & sides of shell)
Mix milk, 1c sugar, flour & egg yolks.
Set aside.
In a skillet add 1T butter, 1 egg, 2T sugar & 2T water.
Boil until dark brown & waxy, stirring constantly. This takes time but don't panic - keep stirring until dark brown.
Add the 2c milk, 1c sugar, 3T flour & 2 egg yolk mixture.
Top w/ meringue (2 egg whites & 2-3T sugar beaten to stiff peaks. Be sure to seal meringue to shell.
Bake until meringue is slightly brown.
