Toffee Bars Recipe

1 C.butter or margarine
1 C. brown sugar
1 egg
2 C. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 7 or 9 3/4 oz. bar chocolate
1/2 C. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350.

Cream the butter/margarine with the brown sugar.
Add the egg, flour and vanilla. Blend well and spread in greased 11 x 17" pan.

Bake in oven 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven and turn oven off.

Place the chocolate bar in center of dough and return to oven for 5 minutes. Then spread chocolate evenly over the dough, sprinkle with chopped nuts and cool.

Cut into bars, diamonds or squares. Refrigerate or freeze to set the chocolate.
