FILLING
2 c. apricots, soaked overnight
2 c. water from the soaked apricots
2 c. sugar
8 tbsp. cornstarch or flour

Add the apricots to the above ingredients and cook until thick.

BATTER
1 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. sour milk
2 tsp. vanilla
7 c. flour
4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking soda

Mix all filling ingredients and cook until thick.

For the batter, cream the butter, eggs, and sugar. Add the sour milk and vanilla.

Sift the flour, and add the cream of tartar and baking soda to the flour.

Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.

Roll the batter 1/16" thick. Cut the cookies by using a round glass. Fill the cookies with 1 spoon of apricot mixture, then cover that with another cookie and slit the top.

Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 for about 15 minutes.
