Margarine or butter to coat the pan
1 C Butter
1 C Sugar
3 T water
1 T Light Corn Syrup
1/3 C Chopped Hazelnuts
12 oz Dark, Semisweet or Milk Chocolate Chips
1/2 C Finely Chopped Hazelnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Coat foil lined 13 x 9 in baking pan and large heavy saucepan with margarine or butter. Add 1 C butter cubed, sugar, water and corn syrup to pan. Cook and stir on med high heat until mixture turns golden brown and temperature reaches 300º or hard crack stage. Remove from heat and stir in the 1/3 C of chopped hazelnuts. Pour into prepared baking pan without scraping sides. Let stand at least 1 hour. melt chocolate chips in microwave according to pkg directions and spread over top. Sprinkle with 1/2 C finally chopped hazelnuts pressing down gently. Let stand 1 hour. Break into pieces and store in refrigerator.

Test candy thermometer before use by sticking it in water that has come to a boil. Temperature should read 212 degrees. Adjust recipe temperature up or down based on your test.
