3 tablespoons yeast
1/2 to 3/4 cup warm water

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in a little warm water. Scald milk and let cool. Add sugar and shortening to yeast and milk. Add first five cups of flour and mix. This will be like pancake batter. WAIT !!! Let rise until doubled about 10 minutes. Stir and add baking powder, soda and salt that has been mixed together. Add enough flour, about 5 cups, to be of biscuit dough consistency. Knead in the last cup or so of flour. Roll out (3/4 inch) and cut with a biscuit cutter. Put on a greased cookie sheet and freeze. Store in plastic bags in freezer. To bake, put frozen biscuit on a cookie sheet, turn on the oven and let biscuits set while oven warms to
400 º. Bake until brown, about 15 minutes. These biscuits will keep 4 to 6 weeks in the freezer.
