1 (4-5 lb) beef brisket
3 (8oz) cans of tomato sauce
1/2 c water
1/2 c chopped onion
1 garlic clove
1/4 c red wine vinegar
3 tbsp. Worcestersire sauce
1/3 c brown sugar firmly packed
2 tbsp. honey
2 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt 1 small lemon
dash of liquid smoke if desired

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 F Sprinkle brisket with S&P. Roast in covered pan 3-4 hours until tender when pierced with a fork. Cool and refrigerate. Prepare sauce:Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer uncovered 10 min.stirring occasionally. Makes four cups.
Cut excess fat from beef,slice into thin slices. Place a layer of meat and sauce until all is used. Cover with foil.
in 350 F oven , bake 1 hour or until heated through. Serve with assorted sandwich rolls.
