Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 lbs. sauerkraut (Ed's homemade is best but I guess store bought will work),
1 large onion (diced),
1/2 head cabbage (shredded),
1 granny smith apple (peeled and diced),
10 slices thick bacon (or 12 or 15 or 18),
1 (10 oz.) can beef broth (beef bouillon is okay)
2 tbsp. brown sugar (packed),
6 tbsp. bacon grease (optional for you but not for me)

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bacon into small pieces (1 in.) and fry until crisp. Put sauerkraut, shredded cabbage, diced onion, diced apple, bacon, bacon grease, brown sugar and beef broth in crockpot (that's right, that's everything but I figured you might forget something so I listed them again). Turn crockpot on (another reminder for some of you) high for 4 hours and your ready to serve.
