4 ˝ c. nuts (1 lb). The recipe says pecans, but walnuts should work.
˝ c sugar
1/3 c light corn syrup
1 T coarse sea salt/kosher salt
˝ t fresh ground black pepper (optional)
Coarse raw sugar for tossing the nuts

Directions:

Generously grease a 15 x 10” pan with 2 T butter.

In a large bowl mix the following:
Mix first five ingredients.

Spread this mixture in a pan and bake at 325 for 25 minutes or until golden and bubbling, stirring every 5-10 minutes.

Transfer to greased foil, toss with coarse raw sugar, and cool.
