Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
¾ cup Crisco
1/3 cup ice water

Directions:
Directions:
Cut Crisco into flour and salt mixture until it holds together and falls apart into clumps the size of peas. Sprinkle water over the mixture, and mix with a fork until it holds together. Divide in half and roll out on floured surface. Makes enough for one pie crust, top and bottom.

Lattice top: put base crust in pan and fill with desired filling. Roll second half of dough out on floured surface and with a sharp clean knife, cut dough into approx. 12 strips about 1 and ½ inches wide. Lay half of the strips evenly across the poured pie according to size. Then, lifting up every other of the already-placed strips of dough, place the remaining strips perpendicularly, in an alternating and under-over fashion. Pinch together edge to finish off.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is the pie crust recipe that my grandma learned how to make when she was nine years old. When I turned nine, my grandma taught my dad and I this recipe so that the tradition of homemade pies at holidays would not die. Every holiday after that, my dad and I would spend a whole day making every one’s favorite kind of pie for the holiday meal- sometimes up to eight pies!!! We would always be covered in flour and exhausted by the end, but it was a tradition that I was always so proud of and looked forward to each year.
